I was given Mandrake 9.2 on a pair of discs today, and was told they could be run off the discs, however after installing I could not figure out how to boot up windows, I tried re-setting the BIOS sothat it runs from the hard disc first(factory settings) but it still just gives the option of running windows. did I delete windows?

    You probably didnt delete windows.

All that you have done is made the mandrake boot loader, the default boot loader instead of the NT one. This means that mandrake will load by default. You can instruct it to tho. There is a place in the Mandrake install where you can allow the windows partition (hda1 more than likely) to be bootable. Do you know if you are using LILO or GRUB?

Some of these links may help

yeah, about that, I talked to the guy again, told him what I did, and when trying to set-up a partition, I deleted the windows one, but I got a windows CD off one of them and am going to get rid of Mandrake when I get home.

    thanks anyway man

Why not make the machine a dula-boot system, so you can have both madrake and windows on the same macine,it quite easy.
