    I seen the original on TCM a few months ago. One of the worst things I ever saw on TV. I dont know why they remade it at all.

    Hi all..Just signed up 2 Boards tonite!!
    I saw The Hills Have Eyes last nite and LOVED it!! It had just the right amount of uncomfartable scenes and bloodlust that I was expecting when I paid my money in!! When the whole 'revenge' act kicked in I was practically giddy!! As Gibbo says in Ransom.."Gimme back my son!!"..Well,daughter in this case!

    Believe none of these obviously insane people:

    Saw this film last night and it is cliched, sadistic crap of the highest order.

    2D, obnoxious characters that mostly outlive their welcome. Such genuine frights as 'someone running across frame accompanied by a shrieking sound effect' or 'oh my god I thought there was somebody behind me but it was only my sister/brother/dog all along'. Rubbish

    Only two points of note: Another great make-up job from KNB EFx group and the scene where Emile de Ravine (the cute Aussie chick from Lost) gets raped by the mutants. It was very uncomfortable although the fact that it then quickly decends into gleefully sadistic and perverse mode means you really just stopped caring.

    Basically the whole film from this scene onwards rests on the shoulders of characters that have spent the last hour being completly unlikeable. So of course we as an audience are supposed to give a sh1t?!?! Yyyyeah!

    In fact I found myself rooting for the dog more than any of the human characters. Give that dog a leading part I say.

    Oh and the ending. I never saw that coming. (oh and in case sarcasm doesn't translate through the text too well, that last line was smothered in it!)
