Internet connection ?

I'm having some trouble connecting through a dsl router to the internet.

I can connect to the local network no problem and can even ping boards.ie but none of my applications will pick up the connection.

I have tried automatic and static addresses, no luck.

Also reinstalled drivers with no difference made.

When i setup the connection to connect through a gateway it shows me the Internet gateway icon in network connections as disabled and will not enable.

The local gateway is setup to 192.168.1.1 on the dsl router, and all these setting are being picked up automatically.

I have released and renewed numerous times with no difference made.

My browser is set to automatically detect settings but doesn't.

    Any advise would be appreciated.

The automatic detection expects to find a script telling it the network settings. Have you tried changing the connection setting to direct connection?

I've tried using IE and firefox but neither connect. Both are set to detect settings. I've also tried using proxy destection which made no difference.
