    Hi,
I think it's about time I actually set a signature on thunderbird rather than writing it in as I do every mail.

I want a pretty simple signature like:
    Kind regards,
    my name,
    my company

    email
    phone

I've tried different options but can't find out where to put it.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also, haha, I know I've been using computers for about 10 years, but how the hell do you type the spacers between text like this:

    text I text I text I

They aren't I's, I think it's the one beside the number 1 on the keyboard:o

Shift Backslash = | (called pipe)

I used an extention called, strangely enough, Signature with Thunderbird. :)

Write your sig into a text file, save it to your PC.

    In Thunderbird, Tools-> Account Settings.

Select the account you want to add sig for, then tick the box in the attached screenshot and select the file u just created.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got that extension and it does the job but I'd prefer if it was always in every message from that account, like the way Irl Robbins suggested, unfortunately that suggestion greys the signature and puts -- above it, I'd prefer if it looked like I wrote it every time if you get me?

I think the grey font is just to show it's your sig and not part of the text you wrote. But could be wrong about that...

That's deliberate ... the "-- " (note the space after the "--") indicates the start of the signature space. When someone replies to your email, a well behaved email client is supposed to strip everything after the "-- " before quoting the original email. Thunderbird displays it in grey just to make you aware that it's a signature.

If you'd had any correspondence with people who work for companies with 15 line long disclaimers in their signatures, you'd quickly appreciate this behaviour, believe me!

yea I've dealt with people who had huge signatures before alright. I don't need a big one so I think I'll just stick to the sig extension:)
