    THE GREEN MILE

    Galway based Shootin' Star Productions will be staging for the 3rd time due to popular demand Stephen King's novel/Frank Darabont's film The Green Mile.The story centres on prison guard Paul Edgecomb (Padraic Mc Donagh),whose sanity is sorely tested by watching men live and die everyday.He encounters 6ft 9 John Coffey(Willie Moriarty),who is under sentence of death for the murder and rape of two young children.Coffey seems like an unlikely murderer,he is afraid of the dark,cries in his sleep,and is simple minded.He also has the gift of healing.Edgecomb,,aswell, as the other guards-sympatheic Brutus(Collum Donnelly) and the very sadistic Percy (Patrick Boylan) are in for a strange experience that involves intelligent mice,brutal executions and the revelation about Coffey's innocence and his true identity.

    The Green Mile shot to fame in the year 2001 were it sold out a week in the Town Hall Theatre in Galway and also got the surprise visit of a 58 year old American woman who herself was on death row but was reprived two weeks before her death.This will be the third time Shootin' Star will do this show but this time the whole country will be able to experieence it as it is going on NATIONAL TOUR!!!!

    Cast also includes Stephen Kenny(Showbands),Ciaron Davies (King Arthur), and Matt Kelly (stage version of "Clerks"),
