Does anyone else think it is dispicable that the parade organisers allowed Irish Ferries to have their banners carried after their recent carry-on vis-a-vis their staff and re-flagging their ships.

    Irish me arse!!

What!! Do they think we are short memoried f-wits?

    I agree,

How dare that so called "irish" company even present its banner on irish soil, let alone sully the parade with its presence.

What next, Gamma sponsoring Croagh Park?? ESB heading the Fair Trade campaign??

I think the Parade Organisers should be ashamed. In fact I think I'll write to Gaybo and Joe about it!

Well, I think it is a joke!! The only time I have been on an Irish Ferries boat was back in the 80's and it was the scummiest trip I ever did. There was egg yoke all over the place!! I wouldn't have the stomach to re-attend. Seriously!!

We were stuck floating around the "Quiche" lighthouse for from 7pm to 7am due to high winds. I was only a kid - and the highlight of my memory was seeing a nun carrying a tray of chicken, peas and spuds down the middle aisle of the canteen (ye old Irish Ferries 20 euro a spud canteen) - the boat lurched to the right - and so did the nun and her tray of food - pea by pea it sprawled to the right. My aunt was sitting beside me, her head contorted, and the sounds of snoring from her nostrels. Nothing could waken her - would sleep through a flippin tornado! Rock the boat, rock the boat baby!! We didn't have enough money for grub - we spent it on cheap lego in Holly Head!

In relation to sponsoring today's parade - it was a completely hipocritical thing to do. If they sponsor Ireland - then hire our people!!!!
If they want cheap labour - then take your ships out to a country with a cheaper resource line!!!

Sponsoring an Irish Parade, Irish Ferries - when you won't employ Irish people.
That is complete and utter arse!

    Thay tuk arr jawbs!!!

    :D

Sorry; seriously though if Irish Ferries want to flag their ships in foreign countries and staff with non-irish citizens, then the name is a bit rich; technically it's true though, they are ferries for the irish, just not Ferries that are Irish owned!

I'm hoping any money saved with the cheap labour will be lost twice over with the amount of people that will avoid their service; but that's another matter altogether.
