You either buy a copy or look online for a crack.. code is no good as you still need to activate.
Again i advise you buy a copy.

OP. If you legaly bought your copy of XP Pro, and cant activate over the net, then phone them up. The robot will ask you for the hardware key that is generated by the activation programme. You feed in those numbers and it will give you an error and forward you to there CSD. The lovely folks there will then ask you a few questions and will usualy just give you the activation number. I had to do this when I reinstalled my copy of XP on my PC. I had exceeded the number of times that I could activate XP over the net, so I phoned them and they gave me the confirmation code. Done and dusted. Oh, and this will only work if you have a legally licensed copy of Windows.

Best advice for you is this. If you cant afford the Microsoft Tax, then do without, although MS will probably just ignore "home users" when they break copyright law by using unlicensed copies of windows, it is still illegal and against boards.ie rules.

Just ring them... get onto there customer service and answer yes for everything...
I had to do it tonight at work, with a CD Key that's been used half a million times.
I'm not saying it's a good thing to do, I have a legit copy of XP Home on my machine, but sure they don't care much about home users.
