What is this high-powered RTE television, radio and DAB transmitter actually called? RTÉ, the DCMNR and Dail debates use all three intermittently...

Would there be a Gaelic and an English spelling perhaps ?

    Different dialects ?
    Shelta ?
    Or just simple mis-spelling ?

It is very widespread and frequent.

Of course you get it on lots of Irish place names, sometimes in the same area the fingerboard signs to a place will have variant spellings.

According to sheet 36 of the Ordnance Survey's Discovery Series its called Clermont Cairn. But looking at the map the mast might actually be on Black Mountain. Having been up at the site there is a pile of stones to the south of the mast itself. This is meant to be a grave marker or cairn (anybody know the exact term?) hence the name Clermont Cairn. Any geographers or map makers looking at these pages might be able to give a definitive answer??

Obviously not the one beside Divis. There are LOTS of places called Black Mountain.

Munster seems to have 4 or 5 peaks called Seefin. Caused me no end of grief finding out which one to plot its repeater coverage.

    Clermont Carn
    MHz Vision carrier
    719.29 RTE1
    751.29 RTE2
    831.29 TV3
    847.29 TG4

Group E is channels 35 to 69 - which includes all the channels for this transmitter

Interesting reading and photos of Clermont Carn here ! :

    That's Ch52 (RTE1) up to Ch68 (TG4).

Could you be more specific regarding your combiner (make/model) and what it's used in conjunction with (1 suitable aerial should be able to pick up all 4 Irish terrestrial channels).?

Is there not a model number on it somewhere?

Triax do a few models that would suit, like the 5052 model, where the E side starts at Ch52.

I'm not fully convinced your combiner is at fault, though it is possible.
