I was told by a good source that this years Irish Boylesports champ has already lost over €100,000 playing online
Any truth in this? How do you dig a hole that deep?

    doubt it.

this means that he has put most of his winnings into his bankroll?

surely not but then again ive heard of stranger things...

Not sure how appropriate it is to speculate on a public forum about someone else's business on the basis of hearsay, even if you think you're getting the info from a "good source", but for what it's worth, Flipper (Kieran) told me in Vienna that he had used a sizeable chunk of his Citywest winnings as deposits on two apartments he bought shortly afterwards. Since Citywest, he also cashed for stg£10k in a festival event in Birmingham. Perhaps the "good source" is somewhat jealous of Flipper's success?

I was just looking for the truth. Source wasn't jealous, he was emphatic, as was I.

i thought this was a poker forum not a 'gossiping over the fence while hanging the clothes on the line' place.
Even if it's just an honest question, this is exactly how rumours are spread about people.
And the fact that you say 'a good source' attempts to lend some sort of (false) credibility.

How would you feel if there was some jealous idiot (and let's face it there's a ****load of them in this country) out there smack talking about your poker success?

I know many of the experienced Cork players have a on going slagging match with Flipper. Its a bit of fun and Flipper gives as good as he gets. It is possible that some joke made by the lads was taken up wrong and thus this false rumour. I know for a fact Flipper does'nt play on-line.
The only person digging here is your good self.

as anyone who has played in cork knows, there is always a good slagging match going between any and all of the regulars there! and certaiin cork players are well known as ****-stirrers and love nothing more than starting rumours about people to wind them up.

Do you really think if Flipper lost 100k, he'd be talking about it with anyone but his therapist?

This isnt appropriate for this forum. Having traveled with Flipper to Vienna and back, we talked about bankroll management etc and he told me he had invested a good chunk of his winnings into property (which is smart!).

Beyond that, this is noone's beeswax but Kierans. Thread closed.

    DeV.
