    Why do people say "nh" in online games when you show down a big hand? It really annoys me :mad: Fair enough if you play a hand well but most of the time they are just commending the great hand you got which isint something to be proud of. The worst player in the world can have pocket aces and then hit an ace an the flop.

    I wonder the same thing. Why not say: "Nice hand the random number generator has dealt you". People say nh as if the person has some control on the cards they are given. Caper.

    Last night in the SE, dealt QQ UTG, I limp-raise. Reraise all-in from UTG+2. Trying to isolate I pot it for another €300. UTG+1 eventually calls with AhJh. Flop ace high and checked to the river. He shows his hand. Someone says nh, at whicjh point I asked if they were actually taking the piss. Sick fcuker.

    They Come in to the pot with hands hit top pair I.e your AJ example and then proceed to check it down!!!!

    What the hell are they hoping to hit an AAJ flop? fs......

    It's cathartic, no doubt about it, it helps, that "nh" "thx" calms you down and helps you accept what just happened, it's preferable to smashing something or typing what you really think :)

    I was in a tourney on PokerStarts where a player typed "loser" anytime a player was eliminated. It put some people on mega-tilt. It was very entertaining.

    That annoys me as well, when people say "ty", but i do realize that when people say that they are more than likely just being polite back to the person who said "nh" so i'll let this one slide :D

    He says "Thank you" in response to "Well played", not "Nice Hand", that is the point he is making. When he is complemented on his actual playing skills he will respond in kind, when they say his hand was good he agrees because it is fact.
