Not much - if I wanted to see bad fighting I'd just pop into Temple Bar.

My Granda, for the crack, used to knock out a horse he owned. he did it first time for a bet. Thing was he was a horse trainer and he admitted years later he'd actually spent 6 months or so training the horse to fall over when he hit him. Won the bet though. I think he only turned to training him after he'd hit the yoke a lot and the horse had just stood there looking at him. My Da remembers the family thinking he'd gone nuts watching him swing at this horse day after day!!!

I don't think he hurt the yoke Max, he loved his horses. I think it was just a clever trick.

The only true King of The Gypsies was Bartley Gorman IV,he was undefeated for nearly 50 years before he died of cancer. No Irish traveller was ever able to beat and as such have no right to the title.
