I have noticed over the last few days that after I close Firefox an Internet Explorer window randomly appearing on the taskbar, titled "http://esampler.tng-global...". The window can't be maximized and only appears for a second or two before closing.

I have Googled extensively and found some stuff but the IE window still appears.

/edit/ I have managed to look inside the IE window. It says the following...

"This pop-up is being used to make a delay before another visible pop-up appears, and is served with the permission of O2. In a 30 seconds this screen will change to ask if you would like to complete an online market research questionnaire for TNS mrbi.

No data is being, or will be collected without your full permission. You will be asked about participation in the survey a few minutes. Meanwhile you can carry on using your browser as normal.

All surveys undertaken by TNS Interactive and TNS mrbi comply with our privacy policy which can be found here. If you have any comments you wish to make about this please contact websitesurveyqueries@tns-global.com."

What a coincidence... I just migrated back to o2 a few weeks ago, and I have been using webtext a lot this week.

I was just wondering if anyone else has been "infected" with esampler and knows how to get rid of it. I have Googled but none of the solutions I have found are working thus far.

I am rightly pissed off by this bullsh1t. I never gave o2 permission to do this, and now my system is infected with malware crap!!!

A Google search revealed they are a "legit" marketing survey company for large companies like AOL, MSN, Wanadoo and Yahoo who have used them so does O2 it seems though their method is quite annoying.

Check the propeties of IE and Firefox make sure no pop-up's have been whitelisted by tns-global and if need be purge the cookies from each browser.

Failing that run Hijack This and see what is loading at startup for anything O2 related.
