    help!!!!!

boguth a new sealed type battery today.
filled it with the acid and clippeed on the top.

then left it for about 45 minutes.
put it in the bike and tried to start,
lights came on but engine wouldnt turn over.

jumped started off the car and left it ticking over for a half hour to see if that would charge it.
killed the engine and tried to start but got the same result :/

anyone have an idea of what im doing wrong,
its the first time ive installed a battery so maybe i missed a step.
all wires are properly connected etc.

its a bros 400 electric start if that makes a diff

    thaks for reading

I totally flattened my battery last week and I could not get it to take a charge. Bought one of those cheapo 5.99 chargers on special in Lidl this week and charged it for 24 hrs, perfect now. Make sure you take the vent stops out when charging!

I've managed to buy bikes with kick-starts to avoid this, very hard to come by these days though.

Yeah, otherwise hydrogen (or some explosive gas) can form inside. Opening the vents just allows it out and prevents a build up.

    I have a 2005 Kawasaki W650 , 675cc paralell twin with electronic ignition and a kick start !!! ;)

I can run this bike without a battery, but my alarm won't work. Never had a problem turning it over, 2 kicks and it starts.

The reason your battery didnt charge when you left the bike ticking over is because the revs have to be at a certain point (not sure how high, but higher than idle point) to charge the battery.
