A young Irishman is among two patients in a critical condition at a London hospital following a disastrous drugs trial.

Ryan Wilson Flanagan is fighting for his life after being injected with a new drug for the treatment of serious conditions like leukaemia.

The 21-year-old, whose mother is a native of Dublin, is one of six people in hospital following the trial.

He and another of the patients are both fighting for their lives.

Witnesses say the men involved in the trial "went down like dominoes" and were writhing in agony shortly after receiving the drug.

....... i think i speak for us all when i say "I NEED PICTURES NOW!"

revealed that the six men turned “into wailing wrecks within minutes”.

“First they began tearing their shirts off complaining of fever, then some screamed out that their heads felt like they were about to explode. After that they started fainting, vomiting and writhing around in their beds,”

His head is three times its normal size........ Please God let there be pictures:D

i'd say they signed waivers to say they wouldn't sue if such a situation would occur, i'm also sure they were made aware of the risks involved in such an experiment.

yeah, they sign waivers relinquishing any liability from the drug company. They get about 10,000 sterling for 72hours of their life. but I think this proves, even if its a 1/100 chance of an unforseen reaction, its not worth it.

People are outraged when they hire monkeys to do these trials, and they don't even pay them. Here they are paying humans acknowledging the huge risk involved.

Im sure 100s of monkeys have died in horrific medical tests and drug trials. Theres just more of a PR job for the drug companies when a human trial has issues.

Its true we need to test new drugs to perfect them. in that instance I am more for animal testing than human testing.

Well, while I sympathise for those involved and the familes, they knew the risks....

I don't think I could even bear to look at a picture....someones head being three times larger then normal? No thanks.

Thankfully most involved are making a recovery at least.

Now heres what I'm proposing, I have a Canon Ixus 30, its takes very nice photos and has an extremely fine Macro mode for close-ups.

    - I also have a large jam-jar containing Domestos Pine Fresh, Cif, Anti-freeze and about 5 Fluid Ounces of stale dog urine.

    - Lets inject the latter into McEvoys jugular vein while taking multiple photos with the former. These can then be posted here for the enjoyment of any sick fuk who gets off on the pain and suffering of others less fortunate than themselves.

These drugs were already tested on animals apparently. They didnt show these side effects

I'm relieved. The drug testing company had flyers in the reception of my college, and I briefly considered signing up for it. Seemed like easy money, and I assumed the chances of something bad happening were very slim. Apparently not.
