Well I saw at CeBit Samsung unveiled a 32in CRT HD TV (CTV-32Z30).
It was only 16in thick, and it will be a lot cheaper than a LCD (£350 estimate).

So a CRT is better than a LCD...supposedly, so why would you buy a more expensive 32in LCD? To hang it on the wall?

Any idea what the difference would be for the xbox360 on this and on a samsung 32in HD LCD?

I will defo be getting my hands on one of these for my 360 :)
(I'll sneak it onto our wedding list when she's not looking ;) )

Yes a good CRT is still better than LCD TVs.

To the best of my knowledge though, any HD CRTs dont do progressive HD, so itll have to be 1080i, it wont do 720p.
Once it has all the right connections I see no reason you cant run it in 1080i.

yup, in the € to kg category.

Anyway, have a look at the picture on them slimfit CRTs before you buy anyway. they have a tendancy to Bow the picture.

I've got a Hitachi 32LD7200 Hi def 32 inch LCD and am very pleased with. Yes the black levels aren't as good but you soon get used to it and I now prefer the picture to my old 100Hz matchline Phillips CRT (honest!). A lot of the big high street stores make it very difficult to judge picture quality as they use really low quality RF feeds - LCDs really accentuate bad quality signals.

It's outstanding with the XBOX 360. Already have Sky+ and I'll probably get Sky Hi-def once the price comes down. If you're thinking of buying a TV check out www.avforums.com - that's where I found the best settings for my Hitachi - default ones were pretty shi*e
