problem on start up

    hi i am having a problem with start up,when i power on, the screen with loading windows remains there for about two to three minutes just started yesterday ran mcaffee and spybot nothing showing, disabled all start up items but problem is occuring before i enter my password any suggestions welcome

    ok power on computer it gets as far as the blue screen saying loading windows just before i have to enter password it remains at this screen for four to five minutes like it just freezes or something it just started happening the other day

    But it starts up successfully, allbeit slowly?
    Sounds like some software you recently installed is playing about with something on startup. Did you put anything new on your machine recently?

    i put on mcafee security suite last week but nothing since it's doing my head in

    Well there you have it... Do a system restore to before McAfee and see what happens.:confused:

    You're probably best just doing a simple uninstall first.
    Good job you didn't put symantec on, you might never have gotten your computer back :)
