    Am just downloading this now!

Have always loved the look and feel of a Mac but ain't got the money for one (or the patience as i am still quite a novice at using the Mac)

So, this program skins your XP O/S as Mac style.

    Some screenshots here!

    Or sample screenshot below:

    Oooh.. looks interesting.

I'll give it a go too.

Hmm... it might be fun to put Virtual PC on all the macs and this on all the PCs in the office... that would f*ck with peoples minds altogether.

    I have it installed now.

It really does look the business.

The scroll bars are a little bit funny looking though.

Am waiting for a Disk Cleanup / Defragment to complete before installing it!

Looking forward to it though.. if it's half as good as the screenshots suggest, i'm sold!

Is there anything like this for Win2k ?

I seriously do not recommend using this software if you want to go back to your original windows settings. Not only does it change multiple languages in your system (including some arabic text that nobody knows how to get rid of), it also obliterates most of your desktop, and when you uninstall it everything goes back to the XP defaults

Cool Basquille, I am just downloading this,

except I am getting multiple errors saying files needed to run xp properly are being replaced, what should I do? I have clicked cancel on a good few, regretting it now.

    That's fine.. supposed to happen.
During the installation, a Windows message asks me to insert the Windows CD.

R:-When your system files are replaced, Windows detects that your system files are being modified, and then it tries to revert them to the original ones using the installation CD. Accepting windows request prevents your files from being replaced: thus you should choose Cancel then Yes; or you can just choose to ignore them, they will disappear when you restart your computer.

Since WinOSX 2, the installer should avoid these boring pop-ups.

I'm using it since yesterday and love it.. nifty as hell!

    a) What's it like on system performance?
    b) Do desktop drive icons appear only when a disk is inserted, as per *NIX?

Basquille, can you get your web browsers/programs to take up all the space or do they stop juts above the level of the object dock, and are all your folders messed up until you click on the small x to the left?

In fact my folders view simply does not work like in those screenchots, it is just blank nless i go back to windows format.

    a) Might be just me but in my opinion, my machine seems faster since i installed it. Especially in the opening of folders / browser.
    a) Default is as Windows O/S - all icons on desktop remain the same regardless of whether a disk was inserted. While it does look like a Mac, it doesn't have the same functionality in all degrees.

The object dock problem was there when i first installed. Can be fixed by:

Start Menu --> Programs --> WinOSX --> Dock --> Margins --> Disable Margin

Never had that folder problem - try asking on the WinOSX Support Forum!

The folder navigation (as default) isn't identical to the way they are in the Cascading Mac Style in the screenshot above. Mine is illustrated below.. the developer said this style was achieved using an app in the previous version of WinOSX which have since been taken out of it since it was found to be slowing down the system.

I've illustrated in a few pics attached how my personal desktop / folders / Boards in FF / Start Menu looks.

    I'm loving it myself anyways!

Oh wow, thank you so much Basquille, you helped me, with everything, I really apreciate it.

EDIT: i WOULD RECCOMMEND THIS PROGRAM TO ALL.

    @basquille: Thanks.

(If you're concerned about ****ing up current config / being unable to return to current config - ghost your machine, or at least XP System Restore...)

thinking i might have a glance at flyakite OSX, which is the other big one. see if its better or worse than this. either way i'm definitely keeping the dock - its hugely handy.

    Quite the opposite in fact!

Im using it now. Seems nice enough. No problems so far. This is great; Ive always wanted a mac, but didnt want to risk incompatibility. This is a good trade off:D
