    Thats an important difference.

I'm just asking, people in general and the moderators about how we feel, certainly 60% of threads on this forum go - into a "TMA v MMA" or MMA VS RBSD argument.

Is there a way to avoid these confrontations? I think we can all admit that they've become repetitive, same things being said, same people not accepting what other guy is saying etc. etc.

Should we even try to avoid them? Are they important for the board?

The keep the forum alive tbh. Before it was a long and dreary drought full of null conversation. Granted, it is repetitive. I agree.

I think the forum is still active minus the bickering. if i may call it bickering. far be it from me to question how other people post, i'm just looking for a consenus. just interested. nothing's legally binding.

It gets annoying, yeah. But some threads are interesting and bar all the nonsense, there are some good debates, all be them repeated debates.

this SD , TMA, MMA debate goes around in circles.

sometimes It funny, seeing who gets narked first, and posts an angry message, ha ha i ve been narked many times. :-0

its been interesting though, as the debates, mixed with my own recent training experiemces, has caused me to open my mind more, and now I am training more "alive" and I want to learn the bjj ground angle!

So if ya keep beat them in arguments on the boards...join them! while keep your own secret cult of RBSD, to those than know the secret hand shake!

i used to think the debates were circular (back 1year ago when i used to watch Irish Martial Arts Community board), i started paying attention here a few months ago and thought: same people saying the same stuff. but, now thinking about it i think that everybody's arguments have become (slightly) more refined. and the whole proccess of justifying beliefs is good for our real understanding.
one thing i hate is people jumping in on discussions about an art with 'what does it matter your art is no good'. but there are very few discussions about any one particular art anyway.
    PS
"who gets naked first... I've been naked many times" !!!!
    ye i only post when i'm naked:D

It used to annoy me no end.... but I think things have calmed down considerably over the last few months.

I personally will not read threads about UFC, and MMA and the like, simply because it doesn't interest me, and because I would rather avoid bickering.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I respect people and thier art, whatever form of MA they are doing.... however I am doing TKD, not because I direspect other MA's, and think TKD is the best but because I did it as a kid, a new club then started up again in my town, and I went back doing it over 2 years ago.... solely as a means of exercise and to have a hobby. i have since got hooked on it... and plan to remain doing TKD for the foreseeable future.
