Is it possible to update the Virus definition offline? I remember the was a thread about it here about a month ago but i can't find it. I could download the definitions here with my Satellite Broadband and burn them to a CD and put them onto it that way then. I'd also like to do the same to Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy. But AVG is the priority anyway:) My old Packard Bell is riddled with Spyware and I have the few viruses in it killed because when I transferred the HD contents across to my Dell I scanned the HD with Norton and It found & Fixed alot of bugs. The Packard Bell is Windows 98 and these are it's specs:

    Packard Bell Squarius PII350 Details
    PROCESSOR: Intel Pentium II
    SPEED: 350mhz
    MEMORY: 64Mb RAM, 512K Cache
    STORAGE: 6.4GB Hard Drive

My own Dell is a top of the range 3.4Ghz And downloading is no problem to it.

    Thanks for any help fellas!

Just as you'd find the "Latest Definition Files" linked to on http://www.lavasoft.com/ for Ad-Aware if you look...

Thanks fellas, My crappy old PC wouldnt take AVG, Adaware and Spybot went in fine though. Spybot found 137 different entries and succesfully deleted all but three, I was instructed by spybot to restart and scan again I am doing that now as it takes about 1hour to scan the machine. Adaware will find the rest I'm sure. Is there anyother sort of AV besides AVG that would work on the old girl? Or maybe a watered down version of AVG? I updated the Definitions of AdAware & Spybot Manually using a Dial-up connection. They were not too big, AVG's are the biggest and that was why I wanted that previosu piece of info!
