Bronchoscopy

    I've been told I need to have a Bronchoscopy done and was wondering does anybody have any idea whats involved, i.e are you knocked out or is it done under local, is it painfull, is it similar to endoscopy.
    Any advice appreciated

    You are sedated, in that you remain concious, but are pretty much out of it and remember very little of the actual procedure.

    You will be fine. Your doctor will talk more to you about it prior to the procedure and ask them any questions you feel like at the time.

    It is similar to endoscopy, except they look into the airways.
