This is on tonight, if numbers are good then we will have dealers at the next one for all tables.

But you think you are going to get numbers advertising this the day of?? I would have loved to go, but on such short notice..I don't know if I can. Sounds like it has the potential to be good...

WHere do you advertise these things, cuz this is the first I have seen this one.

    Thanks

It has been advertised at all of our tournaments for the past 3 weeks and I originally posted this last week on here. Our new website is under construction and will up and running soon.

This tournament will be running for the foreseeable future as long as we get a minumum of two tables, local feedback gives me the impression we will get more than this from the off.

If I can find my way out of work I may give it a go. Much appreciated.

For people not familiar with Drogheda would you give directions to these places, preferably with the street address. I probably will not be travelling but like to know for the future.

The Star & Crescent is on Trinity St.

From the South, come into Drogheda via Julianstown, drive through the town past McDonalds, you will then go over a bridge, keep in the left hand lane and turn left at the traffic lights just over the bridge. Star & Crescent is 150 yds down this road on your right. Parking is usually available outside after 7pm.

From the North, come off the motorway at Slane Junction, turn right at the roundabout just past Smyths Toys signposted 'Mell'. Follow this road into Drogheda, You will pass Foley's Pub on your left which is opposite a car park. Star & Crescent is approx 300 yds further on on left.

    Mike,

thinkin about heading out to this.

I've only been out in Drogheda once, for the Boyne Valley game. What are the directions from there?

Also, how many numbers are expected and what time do you think it will finish?

    cheers Mike

is this weekly or monthly or...? i like the 6k in chips... twice as good as the 3k in the emporium you might say (and similar without the 150/300 level! :) ) ... if you decide to get dealers and are planning on using the student lads as dealers i'll go down with them and play this. Can you post a small report after the event with details of numbers/finish time etc. Thanks.

It's the first one and after Paddy's Day, Cheltenham and The Irish Open Sateliite it's hard to predict. Local feedback suggests there could be 20-50 players. As with all the tournaments up here the variance is bound to be huge but the long run value for the good player is also huge. That is not to say there are not some good players around here, just that there are a lot more bad ones compared to clubs.

Directions are above Rory, you will need to follow the ones marked 'from the south'. Finsih time will be 12am - 3am depending on numbers. Under no pressure for time, poker playing landlord :)

Didn't make it out cuz work went late. How many, prizes, winners any boards in the money?

    Thanks

    There were 18 runners in the end, 3 places paid €1000 for 1st - Charlieash, €500 for 2nd - Bernie, €300 for 3rd - Scotty#. Gholimoli was 6th and I was 8th.

The standard was pretty good as only the diehards ventured out after Paddy's day & Cheltenham.

I am pretty confident numbers will be significantly higher next week.
