The charter has been updated to reflect some changes we have agreed on. Well myself and Luke at least. Any comments appreciated.

So by replying to an offtopic post you are liable to a warning or possible ban? Does this include threads that veer way offtopic? Who's interpretation of offtopic is used, for example, the worldcup sweepstakes for the poker forum is surely not on topic, but most people were interested.

Is there a 3 strikes and you are banned for option B, or will there be a referee type 'do that again and you are off' type warning?

I have no intention of breaking any of these anyhow, but the posting in an offtopic thread (as opposed to starting it) is possibly one where I and a lot of other posters may get caught out.

Also, how do you report a post to a mod? Is it just via PM?

For the minor mistakes and lesser infringements expect warnings mostly. If you've popped up on the radar several times for minor things then don't be surprised at a ban for a few days or a week. I assume people who have been around for a while know what's expected in terms of general conduct.

Dunno about Muso but I for one won't be having long pm exchanges with people who get banned, I'll pm you a reason and then your best bet is to take it to the Feedback forum.

That said I've only ever banned about 2 or 3 people from Poker, Muso maybe the same number.

For the PM thing, I meant is that how you report a thread or post to a Mod? Just in case someone somehow offends me, which I doubt, but you never know.

If there is a little 'report to Mod' button or option on each thread I have not noticed it.

Mod's discretion. If something is very popular in the forum but non-poker related it may be moved to somewhere else on boards. Horse Racing forum for instance.

Mod's discretion again tbh. No 3 strikes rule, if you get warned not to do something then 5 mins later do the exact same thing you'll probably not get another warning.
It's not that the mods want free reign to ban anyone and everyone for minor offences, just so that everyone knows that it's possible.

Very very unlikely unless you say/post something really dumb or something that breaks the rules in itself. Can't remember it happening before.

You can pm the mods or use the Report Post button on the bottom left of every post. This will also allow SMods like Asok to see what has been reported.

Bottom left of each post, or you can just pm me with a link.

This forum and it's sub-forums are dedicated to poker and all its variants - both online and in the flesh. Please remain on topic and be civil to other members. We ask you to observe the following rules while posting here:-

    1. Do not create or post to off topic threads. These threads will be deleted. Punishment Type - B

    2. Bad Beat stories/Boasts/claims that online poker is fixed etc. should be posted in the sticky provided. If they are not the post will be merged with this sticky. Punishment Type - B

    3. Outbursts of personal abuse/racism/hissy fits/sarcastic jibes/newbie bashing etc. will not be tolerated. These posts will be deleted. Punishment Type - A or B at the Moderator's discretion depending on the severity of the post.

    4. Rakeback offers will be deleted (see post below), enquiries regarding rakeback will be referred to post below and also deleted. Punishment Type - B

    5. Threads re. online or offline events should be posted in the sub-forum provided and will be moved without notice. Punishment Type - B

    6. Threads advertising Events (no matter how disguised) posted in the main forum and/or not following the correct structure as outlined in the Poker Event Guidelines sticky will be deleted. Punishment Type - A.

    7. If you have any issue with a post in these forums then report it to a Moderator. DO NOT post and get involved. Having said this consistently reporting posts/posters for petty reasons will also not be tolerated. Punishment Type - B

    8. 'Strategy' threads which have no content whatsoever and are nothing more than bad beat/moan posts will not be tolerated at all. Punishment Type - C.

    Punishment Types

A - Instant Ban for minimum of one week (length of ban at the discretion of the Moderator).
B - Anything from a warning to a banning at the discretion of the Moderator.
C - Anything from a lifetime ban to death by firing squad

This is a non-jibe form of sarcasm so I guess I'm safe from a banning.

However Number 8 should be included in the charter and dealt with the severest of manners.

I agree with what Luke has said. The main aim for me is to introduce a bit more flexibilty. A problem that was emerging is that if you ban someone who probably deserves it then don't ban someone else because you know it was an honest mistake then the person I banned originally can't use this as a complaint. I'm not saying this has happened just that it could happen. For example under the new charter I can and will ban an organiser for breaking the rules of advertising their event in the wrong forum or without using the proper structure but if a regular poster posts a thread in the main forum about a current event (whos playing, how are ye getting on type thing) I can move the thread to the proper place, warn the poster and the banned organiser can't say we have favorites, different standards etc.
