sharing bb connections

    Heya. just got a new 2mb wireless line back at home, the apartments im living in have a 4mb line which is crap. is their anyway that i can set up at home so that i can use the internet to share it with the computer i have in my apartments.

    This is very confusing. Let me try to rephrase it in English.
    • You are living in an apartment with a poor quality 4MB connection.
    • Your parents have a 2MB connection which is of much better quality.
    • You want to use your parents' connection from your apartment.

    The answer depends on how far away you are from your parents house. If you install a wifi connection in your parents house, and you're within about 30m, you should be able to pick up that signal. You will not be able to pick up their wireless signal, although perhaps you should sign up for that service instead.

    The best course of action is to complain that you're not receiving your contracted 4MB connection. While many BB supplied seem to think they're not required to fulfil the requirements of the consumer protection act, they are selling a product that must fulfil the usual requirements: be fit for the purpose for which it is intended, have its price clearly marked, and (most relevant) be accurately described.

    ya thats wat i wanted to say, i was all angry earlier n was typing bull****. ive complained many a time about the line, nothing can be done. the wireless connection is in waterford, im in carlow. doubt that it can be picked up.
