Sanyo Problem

I have a new Sanyo 25 inch CRT. A letter P, in deep red, appears on the left hand side of the screen, about a quarter way down from the top. I have hunted through all the menu options and can find no way of getting rid of it.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks.

Can you flick through the channels with the P there? Im thinking it's a Parental Lock of some description. Can you change channels from the front of the telly?

    I guess it's a CE25DN7 or something like it.

If it is the Child Lock, go into Menu, then go to Settings, and See if Child Lock is ON or OFF. If ON, just flick it OFF.

Though, that said, I think turning the TV off from the power button at the front resets child lock to off anyway.

If that doesn't work, please give more information on the model of TV, and any other noticeable problems and I'll look into it.

    Thanks for reply, Byte.
Yes, I can change channels both with remote and from front of telly.
Parental lock is off, was never on.
    It's a CE25DN9-R
    No other problems.

Look for an option in the manual to restore factory settings.

You will lose all stored channels but you can retune and at least you will be rid of the p.

Thanks, Earthman. I couldn't find that option in the manual.
BUT I got rid of the P myself - by accident, more or less. I went into the Hotel Options part of the instructions (it was the only thing I hadn't looked at so far and is not accessible directly from the Menu button on the remote). I increased the max volume setting slightly and when I exited the menu the P was gone!
    Ask not the reason why!!
    Thanks for the replies.

    LoL
Switch it off now and dont ever plug it in again so as to ensure that p doesnt come back :D

Beaten to it! I had looked at a Sanyo TV on display at work today, and noticed that they have a Hotel Menu to lock the tuner and volume control.

Anyway, glad ya got sorted out!

Thanks, Byte. I should have explored all avenues first but never really looked at the Hotel thing.
    The P has stayed away!
