    Looks good

A hitachi Deskstar 7K250 would be a better HDD, its the fastest 7200rpm HDD and only €105 on komplett

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=308745

The X2 3800 will struggle in games if you dont overclock, but by the looks of your components you are overclocking;)

    Great system,

yeap gonna overclock will hope for 2.5 or 2.6ghz and put a divider on the ram as i read that timings are more important on amd systems?

was looking at an opty 170 but the current steppings out of overclockers are apparently only giving 2.5 to 2.6 as well and i was of the opinion that 150 euro more seems a bit much just for more cache

regards to the hdd the 16mb cache was swaying me but i'll look into that hitachi

    thanks

with a sli mobo would you not get two Nvidia sli cards?

extra HDD cache is not a big advantage, as you can see here:

    http://www.storagereview.com/articles/200601/250_3.html

    and here:

    http://www.storagereview.com/articles/200601/250_3.html

The hitachi wins, in both gaming performance and access time, which is the best drive to suit your needs.

    @The Real B-man

The Ultra-D is not SLI, the early models could be modded to run SLI as they had the SLI chipset and 2 PCI-Express *8 slots

The SLI-d and the SLI-dr are the SLI capable DFI boards.

Unless you have your heart set on a X1900XTX, a 7900gt has the same performance as a 7800gtx and costs a lot less than the X1900XTX

But if you want the very best, go ahead;)

will only every put one card in the mobo tbh so i just went for a good board. not sure if there is any benefit for putting a ati card in an ati chipset board and read a lot of good things about the dfi so looked at that.

afaik the only difference between the next model of m/b and the one i have is the sli so no issue there

found that storagereview review and it was exactly what i needed tbh got the hitachi in the basket now thank you

don't have my heart set on the x1900xtx but i here the image quality maybe better then the 7900GTX and its cheaper that i can see was originally going for a x1900xt but teh price drops from when i started looking at the x1900xt mean i can get a x1900xtx for the same price :)

any thoughts on the psu is 500watts ok?

I thought you were getting a 620watt Enermax liberty? a 500watt enermax liberty would do the job comfortably also.

Well if you are going ATI, get a X1900XT instead of the XTX, as it will overclock to the same speeds and save you a bit of money
