Signal Overload problems

Dont know if this is he correct forum, so apologies in advance if this is not the case. I live in the Dundalk (South) area and get very good Freeview recpt from Divis, all Mux's are clear, 64 bit ones can be weak else pretty good. The problem I have is on the STB outbound signal, if I split it and send direct to 2 TV's, all signals are excellent (analogue and Digital), if I use a distribution amp (for more than 2 tv's) the analogue signal disappears or is very heavily ghosted for UK Channels and is poor for ROI Channels - Digital remains good. Any ideas? or is it simple overload and i need a low gain disti amp?

What gain is on the distribution amp? What make is it? It might be worth trying an inline attenuator to combat the signal problem. Sometimes it's the distribution amp itself that gets a tad excited with incoming signals higher than what it can cope with.

I'd suggest trying a 6dB or 10dB line attenuator on the distro amp input.

Are you sure the amp is working OK?
