Can anybody recommend a good wireless router?

If I want also to split the signal between the Pc and Laptop , can i do this without having to buy a receiver for the PC ???

Also , is there any health issues with wireless networks and routers?

Assuming the router is close to the PC, then you can usually connect PC to router using ethernet cable. WRT54G allows up to four PCs to connect to router using wired ethernet(more if you use a hub). However if you want to connect wirelessly then each PC/Laptop will require it's own wireless card.

None at present. It's very similiar radio signals and they've been around for years....

where can you get one of these and how much does it cost ?

Will the bb still work without turning on the router with just an ethernet cable connecting the landline to the pc via the router?

How much distance would the signal from one of these cover?

    microaid.ie, elara.ie, komplett.ie all have it.

    About 70-80e.

No you need router switched on for it to work.

Range depends on location, walls, interference etc.

No range specs given but I have it in the front upstairs room of a 4 bed semi detached with rear extension and I can pick up signal in the back garden.

The precautionary principle would suggest not leaving a wifi router on 24/7 when it's very near you, e.g. in a bedroom.

Hey i'm also looking for a wirless router but want a good one 108Mbps if possible. Is there any out there with a 10/100/1000 switch (not nesiscary, just wondering)? I want it as fast/reliable as possible cos i'll be using it for gaming a bit and can get some spectacular speeds connected to the servers where I work (shhhh!).

Haven't seen one with a 1000 switch, but a lot come with 10/100. WRT54G does anyway.

And you don't need anything above 10 mbps for gaming. No game uses that amount of bandwidth.

I'd rather the higher bitrate cos I'd be running Games & VOIP, and the odd time more than likely a the odd torrent or two. Yeah I figured bout the 1000 switch cos I cant find the dastard anywhere!
