George Michael and Wham...

...Today FM did an hour of the essential George last night. Man, he had ability to burn during the days of Freedom, Praying for Time and Father Figure. Even Wham had some moments, like Careless Whisper and Everything She Wants. Even lately he had the prescience to spot just how good The Ones 'Absolutely Flawless' was and lifted it for Flawless (Go to the City). But he's had some terrible songs in the past 10 years. Where did all that talent go?

I just saw this thread, IMO some of the early Wham! stuff is bloody excellent esp. Wham! Rap which always makes me smile. Very catchy and funky with great lyrics which are almost a social comment. Of course Wham! have always been extremely uncool and ridiculed by many fans of "credible music" which is silly IMO. The upside of this unpopularity is that their "Final" album which has all the big hits is available for 8 quid in HMV at the moment.

I remember the vid for 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' vaguely when I was but a tot. I always kinda liked 'I Dont Want Your Freedom' though I never admitted it...there you go, I just did!:)
