Career Advice: Fund Accountant to Accountancy

Hopefully someone can help me out with a bit of career advice.

At the moment I'm working as a Senior Fund Accountant in the IFSC, earning 33.5K. 2 years experience, Degree and Masters in physics (2.2 only though).

I start to sit the ACCAs in June.

Initially my plan was to just move into a financial reporting/control role in my current company. But after speaking to a couple of people I've decided to take a hit and move into a trainee role.

I have a couple of questions:

Would it be feasible to move now, or should I wait until I've passed a few exams?
What salary could I realistically expect?
How long would it take me to get back up to my current salary?
And finally what type of role/company should I be aiming for?

I'd appreciate any advice that any of you could offer.

    Thanks
