Can anyone give me any feedback on Dell in regards of business use? Are u happy with them? What is their service like (they say they will have any laptop i purchase replaced in 24 hours, anywhere in the country if i am having problems with them)? what is their tech support like? I will be purchasing prob 10+ laptops and 5+ pc's, i dont really know anything about their service so am unsure weather to purchase them or not. Any feedback is appreciated ;)

I've used Dell tech support quite a bit for business purposes and have always been pretty happy with their service. If they say someone will be out the next day, they'll be out the next day.

Nightmare to have to ring up from home, but really handy to deal with for businesses.

Ask Dell to give you some names of Business users in your local area (around a similar scale to your own i.e. no. machines etc) and give them a call to see what they think of Dells Support ...... :)

    Dimension/Inspiron = Outsourced support - aka Bangalore
Optiplex/Latitude = Irish and Scottish support.

Read what you like into that.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Not strictly true. I have had india a couple of times in relation to a latitude while I dealt with an Irish guy about a Dimension.

Overall their NBD service is excellent. I have avoided availing of their "collect and return" service. I had the misfortune to own a HP laptop before which I bough in a "normal" shop. It broke my heart bluescreening, and they wouldnt fix it unless they could find a problem. Dell on the otherhand throw new motherboards/memory/entire computers at you until you are happy.

For business they're one of, if not the best. That's half the reason why they're the most commonly sighted machines in the business world, I would suspect.

Optiplex are fine for business use if you want cheap solutions.

Your looking at roughly a 16month write off time for them under heavy heavy use (most commonly hdd drives going pop)

Support is fine as you cant do any in house work on them in warrenty or you void them.

Not what id use at home but fine for office work.

Feel free to disagree but thats standard practice here(no not saying where)

    Thats it in a nutshell.

If you spend enough money with them, they'll treat you well enough that you won't be put off going back to them next time you update.

If you're a small business though, don't expect much.
You'll be competing for the rep's time with companies who buy PCs by the dozen every month.
