What do you look for in a cash table?

Im wondering what the more experienced and higher level players look for in a table?

% players in for the flop/ no of hands/avg pot or is there something else that you look out for?

    Thanks.

At the moment I'm concentrating on 6 seater cash games and I try to sit at one with alot of shortstacks. They tend to call all in with any pair.

High average pot and lots of players seeing the flop. Check to see if you recognise any names before joining a table.

I add the worst players I come across to my buddy list so the first thing I check is to see if any of my buddies are playing and go to that table.

You want a table where players have a large VPIP. Good pot sizes. At least one or two large stacks. Playing against 5 shortstacks is exactly what I try to avoid. Similarly, I'll always check out the players at each table and avoid certain guys.

You should be looking for a few fish at a table. Two is enough to go around at a 6 seater, three is more than enough. Although, now and again you'll come across someone so bad and with so much money that they'll be able to 'sustain' a table all by themselves.
Look for people you already know are bad that you've marked down. Or if you're a regular at the higher stakes and you see someone new at the table, chances are they're not up to much if it's the first time you've seen them. Just watch a game for a few minutes before you sit down and you'll pick out the idiots fairly quickly.

I like to look for tables with the most money on them. I tend to try and sit so I have position on as many of the big stacks as possible. Hopefully with the shorty at the table to my left.

You want as high a % of players seeing the flop, with a low Pre-Flop raise percentage. In general I'm not afraid of anyone at the levels I currently play .25/.50 or .50/1 so I'm not overly concerned if they're on the table too. I prefer to have position on them, but generally they tend to avoid me without a good hand and vice versa.

But basically my criteria are as follows:
    1) As many full stacks as possible.
    2) High VPIP
    3) Low PFR

I change my answer :o I've found sitting at tables where there are some monstrous stacks can be good. If someone has $300 at a table where the max buyin is $100 you can be pretty sure that they're playing a bit more recklesslly than usual, and provided they're not a great player, they'll be tempted to make/call overbets.

I'd like to give an example if I may:

    Holdem No Limit $0.50/$1
    Hand Start.
    Seat 1 : kaem has $99
    Seat 2 : VILLAIN has $276.40
    Seat 3 : S.Summers has $211
    Seat 4 : Jormson has $100
    Seat 5 : chris35 has $77.62
    Seat 6 : HERO has $77
    HERO is the dealer.
    kaem posted small blind.
    VILLAIN posted big blind.
    Dealing Hole Cards.
Seat 6 : HERO has Qh Kc
    S.Summers called $1
    Jormson folded.
    chris35 folded.
HERO called $1 and raised $4
    kaem folded.
    VILLAIN called $4
    S.Summers folded.
    Dealing flop.
Board cards [Ks Th 2h] (pot size $11.50)
    VILLAIN checked.
HERO bet $72 and is All-in
    VILLAIN called $72
    Showdown!
Seat 6 : HERO has Qh Kc
    Seat 2 : VILLAIN has Kd 6d
Seat 6 : HERO has Qh Kc
Board cards [Ks Th 2h 4d Qd]
Seat 6 : HERO has Qh Kc
HERO has Two Pair: Kings and Queens
    Seat 2 : VILLAIN has Kd 6d
    VILLAIN has Pair: Kings
HERO wins $152.50 with Two Pair: Kings and Queens
    Hand is over.

I'd be pretty sure that the Villian wouldn't have called an all-in to a $10 pot with TP 6 kicker if he only had $60 in front of him.

I look for how much money is behind the more being the better
    I tend to play 1-2 6 max
Ideal table is 5 players with 200+ behind
    but i will settle for 2+ 200+ 3 100+
I avoid if i can tables with more than 1 player under 100
I try avoid ss as they mess up the betting
If i know players i might look for position but i have note that mean i prefer to give position to certain players who i think play it bad.
I also look at the average pot if it is too small or too big I avoid (my arriving usually increases it anyway :-) )

    That is all
