Entitled to a full replacement?

Recently bought a number of dvd boxsets from a seller on ebay and since I received them a week ago I have found that the majority of them (at least 15 out of the 26 disks) are defective in that a whole episode or part of an episode will not play, even on a multiregion dvd player. What I'm wondering is if I'm entitled to ask for replacement of all the disks as I have no guarantee that the others play properly as I haven't had time to watch them all. Any opinions on the matter? Jack.

    Jack

Are these official releases or DVD-R bootlegs?

Do the discs have any scratches on them?

They appear to be official dvds. And a couple of them are scratched despite the fact that they're meant to be new. I got an email from the seller this morning and he said if I send the lot back he'll give me a full refund. Fingers crossed.
