You pick it up from a UK transmitter, If you get good analog BBC/ITV via aerial from NI (not deflector) then you may have a chance.

Do you actually know people locally who are actually recieving freeview, What transmitter are they recieving their signals from and have they had to upgrade their aerials to get it. We cant get freeview in inishowen unless we can access the limavady transmitter. Sherrifs mountain isnt digital yet as far as I know but hopefully it wont be too long before it is.

I'm up past the hospital (Glencar) but unfortunately, my signals are from Strabane, which don't carry Freeview signals.

There are parts of Glencar and surrounding areas that can receive Limavady though, and pretty well too. I have been meaning to test for Limavady but never actually got around to it, and keep forgetting to take home the work signal-meter to measure my levels!

Seen Web link on Highland Radio News Motion
http://www.highlandradio.com/2012/09/26/inishowen-saorview-signal-problems-aired-in-the-dail/

Same issue applies here in Speenogue Burt At moment with Digital Signal Coming from Limavady Transmitter cannot get Signal at all.

Have sent emails to northernireland@digitaluk.co.ukrussell.keene@digitaluk.co.uk

I have been in contact with all Media Organisations UTV.BBC,RTE about this same issue as this is the broadcasters area and have a vested interested that we get a good picture after digital switchover from both sides of the border under the Good Friday Agreement.

Would you be able to find out who runs and operates TV mast at Limvady Co. Derry and weathers assurances can be got that residents who live in Border Areas I.E. Burt Co.Donegal who have always got a picture from this tranmitter will still remain get picture from Limvady after switchover.

@No Freeview From Limavady

1. You dobbel post - don't do that. If you want the same info in another thread then post a link in that other thread.

2. It is not nice to reuse very old threads - if you must, create a new thread and include a link to the old instead.

2. You have to understand that the digital signals are 'next to nothing' until October 10 (BBC SD) and October 24 (other UK channels).

3. Relay transmitters e.g. Strabane are now analogue only. All relays will broadcast the three UK/NI public service muxes from October 10/24.

4. Check your analogue receptions now and check the UHF channels used for your analogue reception and find the transmitter - e.g on earth.google.com.
Is the analogue signal OK now, then the digital will also be OK. The UK analogue teletext page 284 will show a pattern that can help estimating the expected digital quality post DSO.

Take a look at ukfree.tv/Brians* very nice looking pages. You should have the option of at least FreeviewLite from both Derry and and from the more powerful Strabane mast from October 10/24 (note both are Vertical). Limavady may or may not be possible, dependign on your exact location.

Lars :)
