Why wont my Live Chat work (360)...

    Story Folks,

    Have finally gotten the finger out and hooked my 360 back up to live. Gaming isn't a problem but I can't chat online to friends... No sound coming / going over the headset. The strange thing is that it works when I join random games, just never with friends, be they chat requests or private games.

    Anyone any ideas? Somebody mentioned that there are specific ports I might need to open on my router's firewall (3Com OfficeConnect btw connected to a Smart Telecom Aolynk modem)...

    Any help would be much appreciated,

    Sounds like NAT, make sure you forward the ports, i myself, have them all open, cause im lazy :o

    It's your NAT settings definitely -you need to open the ports for xbox.

    If your xbox says you have a strict NAT then you will have problems getting online games and using the headset.

    Mine says strict and I'm not sure how to go about opening the ports for xbox.. :\

    Just switched on Universal Plug & Play on my router... NAT now says open when I test Live from the dashboard. Just gotta wait for someone to wake up now to test my chat :)
