Isnt there a way to emulate a PC running Windows on the mac? It would probably run really slow though

I'm sure if there was Bill Gates would have the author 'disposed of' and any piece of code erased.

:D It should be possible though , even the old G3 imacs could run windows 98. Besides, running a emulated windows PC in linux via VMware has been possible for ages and since OSX is very similar to linux then I presume some sort of virtual PC software has been created for it.

Since a friend of mine bought one of those new-fangled intel imacs (no longer powerpc cpus) I've been keeping an eye on the project to get windows running natively on these macs and they managed to do it last week. Great news for those that have an intel imac who want to be able to dual boot osx and windows XP (especially goood news for gamers) . This is comp[letely different to my suggestion of running windows on a virtual/emulated PC as if they get a driver to work with the intel imac's graphics card it will mean much better performance for games...and emulators

As it turns out, the virtual PC software for the mac is actually called virtualPC and it's made by Microsoft...oh the irony

Microsoft Virtual PC for mac 7 is the latest software for this and a copy of Windows is needed separately as well

OS X is nothing like linux. Nor is it unix that people somtimes seem to think.

OS X is darwin\BSD. Although linux, unix and BSD share a / instead of a \ thats and have similar comands thats prettymuch where the similarity ends. [/rant]

BOCHS is available for mac, it is an X86 virtual environment for use with PPC (G3, G4 & G5). It is also free. Of course you still need a licence for the OS you wish to use. Not sure how it fairs on intel macs though.

Even with the most powerfull of machines, you will only be able to run the much less demanding games.

I stand corrected (I'll have to be even more vague the next time :D )

bochs sounds cool, I'll have to check it out. btw I got windows dual-booting on a 17" intel imac in order to use a weird non-OSX compliant usb to etherent adapter, pretty cool...now if they get the graphics drivers fixed there'll be no problems running windows games

    LOL.

Its only a matter of time before they get the drivers sorted.

Again the less demanding emus will run, but any kind of 3d stuff and with either BOCHS or Virtual PC you are stuffed.
