My thinking behind this was that I didn't need to go for a race (was still early and was double the average) which I was nearly positivly up against or even thought I could even be beaten at this point. What do some of the more seasoned MTT's boardsters think of this fold. Plus this is my first hand at this table so no read on anyone.

I think the underline part is just to distinguish that his flush beats yours because of the highest card of the flush suit he holds. It's just coincidental that in this case he's holding the highest card of the flush, and the first part of the sentence tells you the same thing, but often this situation will not be the case and the underline part gives you more information. It's also just coincident that his kicker is an A, as it isn't to do with that.
e.g. You both make an A high flush, A on the board, you hold the Q and he holds the K, he's then declared winner with a flush, ace high with king kicker.
