We are looking in control in the early exchanges. The Scottish lineout is really struggling. Penalty Scotland to make it 9-9. We need a try.

Great to see the Irish team working so well together. Most complete performance so far in the competition. O'Driscoll seemed to look in charge too.
But fantastic defending from the Scots. Its incredible to think that there was only 6 points in it even though Scotland had no possession, line out or territory. The gaps just weren't there for Ireland to wriggle through, although the elements played their part too in that respect.

Looking forward to next week's match already. Here's hoping the Championship is still up for grabs when it comes round.

Good performance alright and stringer looked very good today!
Think we need a bit of a better game plan in the backs rather than just one of the backs trying to bulldoze or wriggle through. Bring trimble or Horgan through the centre on crash ball and see what happens. Trimble made some ground when he got the ball - some bad day for rugby but very good game none the less. For the amount of possesion and territiry we had it will tell ya something about that Scottish defence - excellent organization.

Italy and Wales - think it proved that Wales arent a one man band and can perform badly even when Sephen Jones is on - would like to point out too that i was looking at that thug Gareth Jenkins when he came on and every he went into a ruck he went off his feet with the shoulder or swinging arm, someone needs to slap manners on him before he really hurts someone - he was lucky he didnt really hust Horan last day.Well done to Italy thought they shoulda won it!

Yeah, italy were robbed imo. Unfortunatly missed peno's cost them. Great to see them being so competetive this year tho. Very scrappy, poor standard game.

For Ireland,a win is a win is a win. Wasn't pretty but got the job done...set piece play was absolutely brilliant, defence was superb, penetration and lose play was not bad, but still a lot of silly errors..knock on's stray passes, and trying to pass out of the tackle when they should have held the ball (happend a lot, very frustraiting to see)

Scottish defence was superb also, but had nothing going forward.

Roll on England...I just hope they beat France tomorrow to set up a decider!

Italy were robbed? I tohught it was complete oppisite.

Wales were all over them in the first half. THe first italian try shouldnt of even been given, he was out of bounds. THe second was an intercept.

Italy did well in the first 20 minutes of the second half, but then wales came on strong. Wales just made some shocking errors.

Wales and Italy were very poor, but i would of thought Italy were the better team but neither side looked pretty...The Match was actually boring.. The 1st try looked to be a try but only just.... the 2nd wat difference does it make how a try is scored a try is a try as in soccer a goal is a goal..

Trimble has to be brought in more, Flannery, Stringer Leamy and O'Connell magnificent today...

it wasnt pretty but it was a win againist a good scottish side,
Was impressed at our line outs it really seems to be coming together, just goes to show you how important lineout ball is, clean line out ball wins matches. thought the backs could of come up with a bit more but all in all a good day.

Jerry Flannery had a great game. He's getting better and better, and Trimble did something notable nearly every time he got the ball, whether it be breaking the first tackle or whatever

England are terribly poor and look to be there for the beating next week.

Very poor standard game (it's been a very poor standard tournament, I'd say the lads in the southern hempisphere will be very happy that the W/C is next year).

When it became so lose, France were always going to win. After seeing Wales yesterday though, I can't see France not beating them comfortably...so playing England for the triple crown is the most we can hope for imo, and confident enough we will beat them...on paper we are far superior, and on form our results are better.

I liked guscott's remark at the end of the BBC coverage.."Ireland will have to do something special to beat England next week, and play something other than boring, dreary rugby...so England to win...

LoL, he hates all teams outside of brittain, but none more so than Ireland :D I love seeing his face when England lose, but it's even better seeing it when they lose, and to Ireland, and in twikenham!! Role on next week!!

Missed Wales v Italy, and Ireland v Scotland (RTE Radio 1 coverage is very confusing!) cos I was marshalling rallies, but caught Fr v Eng game earlier and my hopes are up! England were not just bad, they were terrible! Did Scotland hurt them that much?? The first half was pathetic, they barely contested against france! In second half there were glimmers but they were severly outclassed! Their only bit of flair seems to come from Charlie Hodgson at the moment (who now may be injured?) and with NH defences operating the way they are, flair and creativity are essential!

Given Frances performance today (average) and wales home performance against Italy, France should have the championship in the bag - I would imagine Ireland in second with a triple crown in hand! Looking back though, EOS did set out aiming for a third place finish so in a way Ireland have done a god job.

I think no matter what 6 nations country you come from, you'll come away from this championship thinking what could have been!

I reckon Hogson was taken off cos he was playing crap...I think wales are going to pull something off against france but i think england are going to be out to prove themself next saturday so wouldnt look at todays preformance to close..but saying that england were playing school boy rugby..

well, I never said it'd be easy against England! I reckon if they go a try down then they'll be there for the taking though - two defeats in a row is tough to take in any team! - and Ireland coming off a decent performance on Sat.

In the other big game, I think wales need little short of a miracle! they'd do very well to pull out of their current slump and defeat an up tempo France!

His replacement Goode was more impressive for the time he was on, at least he ran a bit, although he looks like he's carrying a bit too much weight - in other words he's a fat b*stard.

Ah now this explains it all ;)

    http://www.rte.ie/sport/2006/0313/england.html
A number of England players were less than 100% fit for yesterday's humiliating 31-6 defeat to France in Paris because they were suffering from a stomach bug, it has been claimed.

Scrum-half Matt Dawson was only passed fit just before the kick-off in Paris but various newspaper reports suggest he was not the only one suffering.

Centre Mike Tindall and hooker Steve Thompson, from the starting line-up, and replacements Tom Voyce and Lee Mears were all affected.

Although no source for the bug has been identified reports claim several of the England squad dined at a seafood restaurant on Thursday.

"The illness was there but we are not hiding behind it," captain Martin Corry told The Daily Telegraph.

I expect their defense so be right up in our faces next weekend. It won't be as easy as everyone thinks. and our scrum will definately struggle.
