    Hi,

    ive posted below a transcript of my coversation via email with an ebay seller.
    i think ive been fairly patient with him.
    ive only used ebay a few times so im not sure if i should begin the refund/claim process.

    does anyone have any experience with what i do next?

    yes i did, it went last week. i'm assuming that you have not recieved it... i sent it first class recorded delivery. i have the recipt from he post office to prove it. erm.... maybe the royal mail have had to check it or something or possibly it is just taking ages? keep informed

    id say it depends when you sent it.
    id imagine about 7 working days would be the longest it should take.
    royal mail ar usually fairly quick at getting things to ireland, i live near the sorting office, which is in turn near the airport so it doesnt usually take too long.
    ill wait a few more days for it to arrive as there isnt any rush on the part - im using a hauppague one atm.
    after that ill let you know if it arived or not and you can check with royal mail if necc.


    yes, i shall do this tomorrow morning, this is very odd. i have never posted to irland before so i have no idea about the times or rates. Will let you know tomorrow afternoon what is the outcome of my visit. Cheers,

    yes, i have been in contact with the royal mail and they said that i should have been with you for a while now... i sent it recorded delivery... erm... i do have the reciepts to prove to you that i have sent the remote. on you request i would gladly creae a copy for you through the mail or i could scan it and send it via e-mail.

    I am sorry that i have not been able to send you the scan as i am still recovering from my op and have not been able to leave to go to work where all details are. i assure you that your e-mail with the scanned image will be with you as soon as i am able to stand. that is a guarentee. if that is not good enough i could maybe trust my co-workers to access my possecions and send you the details.     i will be requesting beginning the ebay un-received items process today.
    i will also be following up with paypal and if necesary my credit card company.
    you have not provided the tracking details or a refund.
    you have not, as far as i can see, made any attempt to assist me with this item.
    please reply if you intend to reolve this matter.

    i will enter the report at 8 tonight if i ahve no answer.

    i paid for RECORDED delivery.
    if you can simply show me the delivery record then i will leave it.
    you cant even provide the proof of postage, never mind the delivery receipt, so what am i supposed to do.
    i guess you are ok with me stating the refund process then as i was willing to wait until you replied at least?

    Paypal will refund you as Paypal require sellers to post items using a trackable postal service irrespective of what the seller offered postage wise. A lot of sellers are ignorant of this little piece in the Paypal T&Cs. If sellers did catch onto this, cheap posting rates on ebay would be a thing of the past.


    edit... I would claim off Paypal now, expect a negative from the seller (unless he has already given feedback)

    hes already given feedback so im alright there.
    once i claim off paypal do i bother with feedback for the seller?

    im not sure of the "etiquette" in these situations

    I would leave negative feedback for non-delivery of an item. Check the listing to see if you are covered by the Paypal Buyer Protection. If it says Standard Protection offered, you will have to go via ebay. The information should be found under the seller information box on the listing.
