Hi, I got your PM but I'll reply here so others can read my reply. I got my Cannon S2 IS on Monday and so far I am delighted with it. The 12x Optical zoom is excellent and the image is very clear with 5 mega pixels.

I bought mine from http://www.digitalwonderworld.de/index.php?language=en for €430 delivered to the door only minor problem was the manual is in German, but I downloaded a PDF English version from the Cannon site.

I have actually used a Fuji s5600 as well and its a good camera and very good value at €250 on the same site, the one major downfall is the form factor, the lens don't retract like the Canon's so it a bigger camera to use. The s5600 has 10x optical zoom and 5 mega pixels which isn't far behind the cannon.

Just to give you some comparison http://www.cameracentre.ie is selling the Canon S2 IS @ €650!!!! and the Fuji s5600 @ €370. I can post up a sample image from the Canon if you like?

if it aint way out of your way thatd be cool, would the canon be worth the price difference would you think?

Well if you can afford the Canon without putting too much pressure on yourself I think its a good buy, but if your after Value for money the Fuji is a good buy. I'll post up a few snaps tomorrow evening.

LoL hes selling his FZ5 in another forum (Certainly worth concidering) but it is very closely spec'd to the canon, last year i was looking to buy a camera and it came down to Canon S2, Panasonic FZ5 and Nikon S4(only reason was the size going for the Nikon) and it was the Lumix for the whole way but then i was converted to the Canon i think it was the video capibilities and a few other MINOR things + the flipping of a coin :p. the 2 cameras are very evenly paired check out:

    and

You found me out optiplexgx270, but seriously I got the Lumix at Christmas and after about a month of using it I knew to go down the DSLR route. I had a look at a lot of reviews and they seemed to prefer the Lumix. Good luck with the choice.
