Is anyone having trouble getting their post delivered lately. I find myself going over to collect my post now more often than not and have been waiting for a package from the UK for over 2 weeks.
    Anyone know whats going on.

From what I know, any packet coming from the UK usually comes directly to Dublin and from there it is delivered within a day or two. Maybe the hold up is at the other side. Also, by right if you are collecting your mail from your local delivery office, then An Post should be charging you a fee for that service.

    Please don't shoot the messenger.

    How so?
I have only been collecting it because it was not delivered for over a week and I
was expecting something important. I honestly cannot think of a reason why I would be charged for collecting my post.

No apparently packages are sent from a different sorting office but luckily I got the letter I was waiting for. I recently ordered something from the US and it got here in 4 days, I don't understand how something from the UK can take this long.

They are the laziest bastards ever. Our postman is paid to deliver every day but only delivers every third day. We found out that he collects the mail and lets it build up at home.

I live in England and a few months ago my boyfriend came to visit me. He forgot his glasses when he left and I sent them to him. It took almost 3 weeks for them to arrive at his. He was about to go buy himself a new pair. (Should have gone to Specsavers! I'm sorry, it had to be done. Please don't kill me!)

I'm waiting for a package off him now and it was sent in mid february. Still no sign of it. It only has a few DVD Rs but still. I have no problems with post to other places, only Ireland.

I haven't been having any trouble with post/packages.
We got a new postman who looked like a criminal at christmas, he smells fiercely of drink and doesn't wear a post uniform, he had a tracksuit on. I wasnt sure if he even was a postman... But our post is okay which is odd.
Hes better than the guy who would shove all the post for our road into one house. Thats just lazy!

I can tell when my postman delievers..

Never on a monday or Friday , tuesday if its ins't wet, wednesday if wet on tuesday and thusday if the last two days were wet.
Very very rarely does mail arrive here on two days a week and never ever more.
There are 8 flats in this building....and on the day there is mail..there is a load of it for all flats!

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

Ever thought of complaining to your local delivery office or finding out who the Delivery Services Manager is for your area and talking to him? At the very least, it would be investigated.

    Yes- ditto.....
Packages from the UK seem to take 2-3 weeks to get here.
I ordered two things by regular post and one got here from Hongkong 10 days quicker than one from London......:(

Packages from the UK are apparently sent to Portlaoise for sorting- irrespective of where they are for. Its quite possible that they may gather dust for a few days in Dublin prior to being sent for sorting as well.....

I have had two packages traced by the Royal Mail since Christmas (both of which ultimately turned up) on both occasions An Post had been sitting on them (literally in the case of one of the packages which was flattened  )

The biggest problem I had was with the local postoffice in Lucan village accepting a package for 48 hour delivery to the UK (a laptop for repair) on which I took out extra insurance. After a month it still had not arrived, and mysteriously was delivered the day after I put in an insurance claim to An Post.

Yes, its awful.... Couriers are not that much more expensive- I'd thoroughly recommend using them instead of An Post......

Well I'm glad to hear I may eventually still get it.
