It was reported in the Sigpo thread, so I presume an Smod nuked it if it broke sig rules.
I didn't see it though, what was it?

    Did you use quote tags?

Afaik boards doesn't like quote tags in sigs

Because they're the rules I'd guess.

So how come Steveland up there gets away with it and Asok who removed it also has quotes in his sig?

    Think they mean quote tags:

They mean [ quote ] tags - they break the flow of the page, and take up more space.

That's how I feel about sigs in general :)(have 'em disabled, hooray for me)

They'd take up less space than your sig, tbh thats a rather silly rule, SILLY >_<

My sig was changed the other day as I had an animated gif (scenes from Ronin).
However, the pic (below) was the first time I was ever aware that a sig rules page existed - maybe make it more obvious to users.
    imagesig.gif
I searched around and maybe Im being a bit dense but I still couldn't find a direct link to this page.

They take up "more space" i.e. in addition to the space already taken up by the lines in the quote. I'm sure there are more reasons for it. (It was probably added for completeness sake, or else it had the potential to b0rk vbulletin... I honestly don't know. I still think that it does break the flow of reading a page; as do most sigs imho. I have them turned off... *waddles off to test something)

ed: no they don't. Use of the [ quote ] tags adds an additional 30px or so to the size of the quote. Which, on top of 8 lines becomes a reasonably intrusive sig. + the forementioned impact which breaks flow + unnecessity = make it a valid rule imho.
    :p azolf.

Boards.ie -> forum Utilities -> Signature rules & the first page in sigpo notify & asticky in Newbies / FAQ & probably elsewhere...
In fairness, you should have been notified via PM with a link to the sigrules before it was changed.
Although the rules sound quite specific, there is some leeway - it's more about common sense & consideration for the other users of the forums.
(Reasoning (As I take it) for dimensions = better flow of pages / prevents people scrolling sideways or up and down too much. filesize = page loading times (Most noticable for DUN users). Animations: depending on how they're created can be a pain in the rectum for people on slower computers and any speed connection.)

Yes, it was fun for that one post. Couldn't look at it every day though. Apart from the banning it would surely demand.
