Ive heard that using mic tube preamps warms up your sound going in to a digital recorder. Would anyone know which ones are good for a maximum of 250 euro and if they are worth buying. I have a roland 24track.

An actual tube preamp is gonna cost a lot more than 250 euro.

    You gotta love behringer

    all for €71!

The whole tube warmth thing is often seen as a panacea to make digital recordings sound analog. A cheap tube preamp will not guarantee you a good vocal track by the injection of some mystical warmth - it's basically just the soft distortion characteristics of the tube when it is overdriven and can be emulated with software after tracking.

A couple of things that might make your recordings sound warmer:
Check your mike positioning, use a pop shield, roll off 3db between 3-7KHz (experiment sweep it up and down a little to find the sweet spot).
