Kildare Nightrider Goes Three Nights a Week!

Bus Éireann has announced plans to extend the popular Kildare Nightrider service, beyond its current Friday and Saturday night schedule, to meet demand for late night public transport from a growing number of night owls socialising in the capital late on Thursdays.

A new Thursday night service will commence on Thursday March 16th, to coincide with the St Patrick’s festival celebrations.

The Nightrider service operates between Busáras in Dublin and Kildare, and serves Rathcoole Bypass, Kill Junction, Naas, Sallins, Clane and Newbridge en route.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Bus Éireann introduced the Nightrider service two years as a response to the increasing demand for late night public transport. Since its introduction, the service has grown in popularity and is well supported by the people of Kildare. Tickets are priced between €7 and €10 which is excellent value for money when compared with the cost of alternatives, such as taxis. With the people now going out nearly as much on Thursday as on weekend nights, the logical step was to extend the service to three nights a week to meet this demand.”

    Service Details
Nightrider buses depart Busáras, Store Street, at 00.30hrs and at 03.30hrs. The service also operates from Newbridge (Tesco) to Dublin, departing at 01.20hrs and 04.20hrs.
The following areas are served en route: Newlands Cross, City West, Rathcoole Bypass, Kill Junction, Naas, Sallins, Clane and Newbridge.

Tickets for Nightrider services, priced between €7 and €10, represent excellent value for money. Fares are priced at €7 to Kill Junction and €10 to points past Kill Junction and are available for purchase on board.

    General Information on Nightrider
Nightrider is a dedicated late night service operated by Bus Éireann, catering for customers in Co Kildare, as well as Counties Meath, Wicklow and Louth. Thousands of commuters rely on the Nightrider service as an affordable and reliable means of late night transport.

In addition to the Kildare Nightrider, there are four other routes:
    # Navan, Dunshaughlin, Ratoath,
    # Balbriggan & Drogheda
    # Wicklow
    # Enfield
