    Thumbs are most certainly up.

What a piece of work... It made for tough viewing in parts. Winterbottom is a genius film maker.

Anybody else catch it on Channel 4 tonight?

i thought the story was told fairly straightforwardly, I don't know if the impact of the experience was brought over or if he was even trying to do that...

I'd be more interested in what effect showing that film across the UK willl have?

In an interview with Winterbottom he said that he actively tried not to editorialise and just to visualise what they had been told by the three men. He very much wanted to get across the fact that they were three very ordinary people. In fact he said that in their initial interviews with them, they described the events almost like somebody would describe their holidays.

I'm very interested to see how it's taken in the UK, but also whether it gets any play in the US. I hope it brings the issue back into the public eye.

Are there any plans for a repeat of this on T.V. any time soon? Pity I missed it.

I doubt it will be repeated in the near future. It's availble to rent or buy digitally from Channel 4 though, pretty reasonable prices too.

It's on Monday night (tomorrow -13th March) at 9pm on MORE4.

And whatever about 9 Songs, Winterbottom is great... see Code 46, In This World and The Claim for a peek at his ability to vary style and substance... and still make great movies.
