Was just wondering,performance-wise, if i were to install all my games and programs on two partitions - seperate to my c:/ - would there be any negative effects (more concerned about performance of games).

    No.
(Just ensure you have compression(NT) turned off for the partitions...)

I have programs and games on seperate partitions, they run slightly faster if anything.

And they still work after a re-install;)

Dependant on whether they install files to a system directory, or on values written to the Registry, of course.

Would you not turn NTFS compression ON ?

Depending on the system HDD IO may rely on the processor.
For games it's mostly reading info off the drive, and decompression is a lot faster than compressing, probably faster than the extra time it would take to read a larger uncompressed file from the drive.

If you have a system partition then at least your swap file will be at the start of the drive and so should be faster since the head doesn't have as far to travel (seek etc.)

Hmmm. I had in mind saving games, config's,etc. You make a good point.
(I mostly added it to avoid being accused of being "snotty" with a "one word answer" ...)
