    Hey,

I enjoy single table tournaments more than cash games but i find that i cant make more cash while playing the cash games. In general can you win more cash playing cash games given the time it takes for tournaments to finish?

I lose less money playing tournaments.

For me I win more in cash games (net) than tournaments. Made no money in live tournaments (except home run ones).

I can't see a reason that one should be more lucrative that the other if similarly skilled people were playing both.

I make far more playing tournies online then online cash games. Its far to easy to keep clicking call in cash (especially at the limits i play), im a loser at online cash tables im guessing(dont have tracker yet).

I've made far more in live cash games then in live tournies. I'd say im just about up in live tournies.

Cash games by a mile for me.

My MTT record is actually a bit shameful really. Although I don't play enough of them TBH. I just couldn't be bothered playing the low buy in one's because it just seems like a waste of time for the expectation. And my BR can't handle the swings of playing in the bigger Buy-In events. So unless I'm drunk or a bit tilty when I stay away from the Cash tables and try and play through the Tilt in a couple of tournaments where my exposure is limited.

It's possibly a vicious circle, I'm in at the moment, but that's just me. i.e. If I think I'm playing well or feeling generally good about my game, I'd prefer to play cash games.  Just seems like a waste of a table to have a MTT open. (never play more than 3 tables at a time)

I make more playing STT's but for some reason I'm more fond of cash games.

I started playing about 4 months ago. Initially, I only ever played STTs and the occasional MTT and built a small roll but then everything seemed to plateau.

I'm so very glad I got into cash games as I've made much much more from them and I find them to be more rewarding in general. There's nothing like routinely locating one of your favourite maniacs and taking all his money!

cash tables can be most profitable in less time and also break your BR in record time..i mostly stick to MTT's and the odd STT.. today mostly cash omaha pl (in omaha full house = 2pair in NL :D .. eg,flop qjq, i hold qqxx, poor bugger has jjj at 5/10:eek: ) and nl...up a rather nice sum from the tables for today:D , downfall to cash games are i get way to addicted to them.

I'm much better at tourneys. I've done well in live cash games but I don't have the discipline for online. I think it all depends on what sort of mentality you have towards the game. For me I really enjoy the competitive aspect of poker, and there's no better feeling than winning a tourney, but I think cash games are a much more realistic way of making steady money out of the game. I reckon in the long run the mark of a really good player is somebody who can consistently win in cash games.

I've been just above break even in cash games but the bonuses they clear is what really has me in profit. I enjoy MTT's more but I find them very difficult to go deep in. Getting it all-in against a lesser hand and getting outdrawn really hurts in a tournament especially after investing a couple of hours and getting nothing back from it. In cash games you just reload or head into the night blaming variance for your loss, but in tournaments you need so much luck as well as (sometimes instead of ;) ) your poker abilities to do well.

I make alot more playing cash, both live and online. I've only played about 15 MTTs so far this year online. I won one, cashed in about 8 more. I just find it frustrating to make the final table in say the 5k guaranteed and to oly make a $100 profit after 2/3 hours. I can make that in one hand playing cash. I've had too many near misses in MTTs to have the patience for them. Now, if I play an MTT, i'm always playing cash at the same time...

way up in STTs, a good bit down in MTTs and breaking even, give or take in cash games at the moment.

STTs are my main income source from poker, along with bonuses and rakeback
