I can't stand when somebody thinks that last night's dream is so interesting that they have to explain every last detail of what happened to you. So boring.
My own dreams make absolutely no sense to me, never mind somebody elses, so why do you instist on telling me about it???

Just like tomorrow is Friday, they mean no harm, and you should Prioritise what problems are more important! Cus if that worries you I wonder what else might worry you! :p

    Some people are rocket scientists,
and yes some are dreamers :)

Man - that pisses me off too. IT'S NOT REAL, SO STOP TELLING ME LIKE IT'S A STORY THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! And when other people in the room start reacting as if it happened too, like "no way! That's mad" - it was a dream dumbass, and I don't care! I always lose interest straight away when people start crapping on about a dream they had, because I think - "what's the point? This didn't even happen, so why waste my time listening to it?"[/minirant]

Don't go into the paranormal forum so lads.... ;)

Some people attach meaning to their dreams, when it's just the subconscious processing crap - well, most of the time.

I had a dream involving chinese women with no english and a mobile phone shaped like a gun last night. It was a bit wierd. And yeah I'm talking to you crubeens goddammit, would ya ever listen, you're just jealous because your dreams are crap

I very rarely remember my dreams, but when I do they bother me, and it plays on my mind all say, I cant help talking about it then.

Pighead was dreaming last night of your girlfriend lovingly pleasuring me by an open fire in a secluded log cabin in the swiss alps. Are you trying to tell me all this has no meaning? Pigheads gutted.

Ditto, it's like enough already. When people start telling you you've to sit there pretending to be fascinated.....YAWWWWWWWWWN

Sorry Pighead - what's with the 3rd person gimmick? Seems a bit lame IMO. Not trying to start a flame - I just noticed it over the last few days. I just think gimmick posters are soooo 1999.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,921 ✭✭✭✭Pigman II

My dreams are always ****ed up (and unfortunately not in a kinky way either) and I don't tell anyone about them because (a) I don't want people thinking I'm a nut and (b) I don't think they're relevant (c) OP's complaint.

Its actually so much easier to handle when they're written down like that - maybe its just the having to look fascinated for the whole ten minute non-sensical description that gets to me. Keep 'em short and sweet

Do you watch TV shows? Do you watch films? Read fictional books?
None of those things happen and you still watch/read them and pay for them too.

I love hearing about people's dreams and I do believe that they are more than just visions. I think they mean something or reflect what you do in real life.

Apple Gal and I often share our dreams. It's a laugh.

And what the fcuk is wrong with 1999? Listen The Obnoxious Poster just because you have issues with all things 1999 doesn't give you the right to tear Pighead apart with your hurtful and heartless jibes. I'll put this one down to inexperience but next time the big guns will be out. Pigheads quite certain The OP doesnt dream too much.

Anyway did you know that dreams are indispensable. A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder.

Crap analogy. The TV shows I watch are interesting. You're talking as if the person telling you their dream has re-created it with high quality TV cameras and studio quality production w/ actors, etc, and as if they make sense or anyone gives a sh*t. Terrible analogy. Most people are also crap at telling their dreams.
I think they mean something or reflect what you do in real life.

Wow - how profound. Full marks for stating the obvious. If I'm worried about an upcoming exam, and I have a dream that I sat the exam and something *hilarious* or *wiiiierd* happened, that's just because it was on my mind - but why bother telling someone about it? It's not as if it actually happened.

NO WAY i had the exact same dream last night , wierd :D Poor crubeens it's no wonder why he's angry.
the first thing Crubbeen needs to do is to accept people talk about their dreams.

Oh yes admit his dreams stink :D

Nothing. My problem is with lame gimmick accounts....

Don't you mean "Pighead" will put this down to inexperience? Please - just give it a rest. It's tired now. Why persist?

Wow, that's actually fairly paranormal. Many years ago, I brought your mother to a log cabin on the swiss alps and pleasured her before a roaring open fire... I believe that is the night you were conceived son, but how would you have any memory of that... it's amazing! :D

Ok everbody put your guns down, and let's sort this out

Let's put people into categories :D

1.All the people can dream are in tune with nature :D:D

    2. And people who can't dream at all and are either just crap , I'm afraid you have protein deficiency or a personality disorder, I'm a doctor, I think we need to adress this problem, and separate this from normally functioning rationale minds of others.

3.People who hate people for teliing their dreams need to find an outlet in there life, like learn how to walk away (great hobby) and go to cinema maybe

OK put your guns upo and ready ot fire! and prepare for someone to tell their dreams

    As in Scary movie

Guy 1: said to Guy 2 I'm leaving this town
Guy 2 asked "why are you leaving"
Guy 1: he replied "to live my dream",
Guy 2: what is your dream (to Guy1?),
    Guy1: "to have a dream"

This might work for OP and Crubeen, stirr everything before you open the packet..

Now listen here The (No) Oil Painting, any more of this blatant flaming and off topicness and Pighead is going to have to call you all sorts of horrible names(may include ninny). You are without doubt The biggest moaner I've come across today. Please refrain from the moaning and start to post like champion. The raw potential is there, use it. And you can put this roll eyes in your pipe and smoke it too.

Just tell them the dream means they have latent [insert choice] tendancies. Screw them up enough they will never ask you again.

We need more dream stories, this will add to the existing tension:D

I have found a way to stop people telling you things you dont care about. Look them squarely in the eye, keep a straight face and say "I dont fcuking care, you idiot, now stop talking to me" Ideally, try to spit a bit while you're talking, and in a perfect world, a small drop of saliva will land on their eyelid. Guaranteed they will never bother you again.
On the other hand, you could just look totally disinterested and start humming the theme tune off fraggle rock as they speak, either option works as well.

funny tho, but in a dreamworld you wouldn't do that, you must have crap dreams too? I can picture myself dreaming about stirring things up!!!:D

Did you ever do that, I mean you must go out of your way to this dispicable act to someone, if someone on the bus was talking about their dreams again, you would go over and cause so much sin

    Your jealous.:)

The strangest thing is when someone you barely know comes up to you and say ' I had a dream about you last night....'

Are you meant to thank them?

Yeah, I always kinda wondered what you were meant to say to that. My gf always tells me hers. At least if it's by text I can just delete it without reading.

I very rarely remember my dreams, in fact can only remember two. One was pretty weird, the other...... well I was only 14, you do the math ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,417 ✭✭✭Miguel_Sanchez

My last girlfriend used to tell me about her dreams in great detail. I never met someone who could remember dreams so vividly.

I have to say, it bored me endlessly.

    Still though - she's a great girl.

i like when people tell me there dreams most of the time there fairly funny or you recognise similar things youve dreamt about it in the past but forgotten about

I like to tell people my dreams if they had a part in it.
But yes, sometimes I get weird looks from them about it, but I don't mind. Usually it's pretty funny, I think.

But a good friend of mine called me up recently early one morning to tell me that she dreamt of me the previous night. In her dream, I was pregnant and told her that I had to go to Montenegro (I have no affiliation with this place apart from that I once spent a summer holiday there....many many years ago).

That was a bit freaky... but still, I somehow feel flattered if someone dreams of me....
    ;)

A good response to this is to say "what a co-incidence, I dreamt about you too. What was I doing to you in YOUR dream?" :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

Come to think of it, in the week coming up to my classics exam in the leaving i had a dream about a certain question coming up. Hmmm I probably should have told people about that dream because it actually did come up...

Great. Got to love the old reverse psychology. Only if the person you're saying it to isn't a complete fruit & nut. ;)

i have wierd dreams all the time. i only tell someone if they were in it. I dont mind when someone says something like 'i had a dream i was a dog' its when they go into every minute detail and ramble on for half an hour that I think 'f**k off I dont care'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭jsr

I only recount dream stories if the result of said dream is funny(not the dream itself). I had to explain the demented nature of my dreams to my gf because the other night I was having a rather bizzare one and lashed out. She was sleeping in my arms(lovely:D ) and was shoved across the bed. She was not very nice in waking me up!
