    Hey there kids,

Just thought I'd pop a question in here for all you MA kids.

I'm doing some very heavy-on-the-knees training lately; they're not dying yet but I like what I'm doing so you can see the trend. Any exercises I should start doing before my legs fall off at age 40?

I know there was a thread like this before but it got modded away and I can't find it.

    Suggestions?

Do you mean you are getting some pain in the knee's or just that you wish to build up the tissue in the knees itself for some extra strenght and durability???

If the last one is the case, body weight squats, easy to do and hugely beneficial and if you actually put in a bit of gym time do leg extensions and light front squats.

    Cool, thanks chief.

No pain now, I'm just making sure tonnes of high impact knee work doesn't mean I can't walk later on :)

If you're worried about that whole clicky stiffness thing, or athritic pain in later life I'd recommend Glucosamine

Yep I'd go with Glucosamine too... and I swear by an excercise called Hindu Squats... it's a killer but built my knees up after nasty ligament problems. It's a Matt Furey special but it works :D

Hindus are tremendous. I especially love when someone can do 100 normal squats and you get them to do hindus for the first time and they can't get 20. But that's just evil me...

yeah I do Hindu Squats too. did 90 2 days ago and still aching!!!!

I am 34 and my right knee is starting to act up, feels funny, wobbly sort of and weak. I worried for future problems (see me mother got real bad knees)
yeats of abuse and hyper extension.

I wear an elastic support on it when kicking. and that helps.

what adivce can you give me?

whats this Glucosamine stuff, what do you do with it?

Personnally, if your looking to supplement go for Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate.

Glucosamine is a form of amino sugar that is believed to play a role in cartilage formation and repair. Chondroitin sulfate is part of a large protein molecule that gives cartilage elasticity.

I take them and any knee issues i was having are gone.

Milionaire, sorry but sounds to me like you might have some permanent damage, if I was you I'd get a scan done.

I take Optima Glucosamine, it has Chondroitin, Selenium, Calcium and Aloe Vera aswell. It helps to maintain healthy joints, muscles, bones, tendons and liagaments and I find it great. It's in tablet form, you take one or two a day and you can buy it in a health food shop....
words of advice: don't buy another brand in Boots as it's crazy expensive and maybe try taking Co-enzyme Q10 to help with absorbsion.

    Should be.

Try any pharmacy or health food shop.
