    Hey folks,

just wondering who's heard of this? It's his latest documentary, I think it's being shown on BBC2 as a series, with the first one on last Sunday, dunno how many episodes though.

I caught most of the first episode though the other day. I had heard nothing about it, but my brother had read brilliant reviews saying it's the best documentary ever, etc etc., and now my friend tells me that he's been reading about it too! Apparantly I was in the dark.

But anyway, I caught first one, and was soooo impressed...!!! I love David Attenborough's work, but this is by far the best nature documentary I've seen (well, might be tied with Claude Nuridsany's 'MICROCOSMOS'). Even if you're not a nature enthusiast, you can't help but be impressed by it -- it's just so exciting, it has amazing camera work, and it's educational.

I won't go into too much detail, but I recommend that EVERYONE watch it, it's just brilliant. Best scene -- great white shark shown in super slow motion jumping out of the water, catching a seal in its mouth, and diving straight back into the water, in one swift movement. Classic!

    Anyways, details...

    Episode 1 repeats: BBC2 18:30, this Saturday 11th March
    Episode 2 airs: BBC1 21:00, this Sunday 12th March

Watch it! I'm gonna try to record it, but I'll probably end up buying it:rolleyes:

I have followed David Attenborough's work since Life on Earth when i was a kid 30 years ago. This is the summit of the nature documentary, Visually stunning and his erudite narrative adds to experience

ye, watched this at 9'o clock last sunday night. Camera shots are supposed to be digital, remember reading some review about it in the Sunday Times TV guide. Watched the first 25mins, excellent stuff. The aerial view of the wolf chasing the (can't remember the name of the animal) was brilliant. You are always guaranteed a good show with Attenborough part of the production.

Yep the shark breaking through with the seal in his mouth was something else. It must've been a good 6 feet clear of the water.

I liked the bit at the end as well where they went through what it takes when filming. 1 helicopter, 1 jeep, 7/8 men spread over 3 days for maybe 1 minutes filmtime

It was also shot on HD and made over about 3 years.

Some guy in the independant described it as "wildlife porn" and said that people now just want to see the "money shot" Can see his point but damn it good porn is good porn!

lol yeah :p I don't agree with him though... It's as much about the cinematography of the program as the wildlife, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's beautifully shot, and makes the program incredible.

Next episode is on at 9pm, set your videos ;)
