ITV finally showing their true colours?

For quite some time now, everyone has been complaining about ITV standards going down the toilet, around the u-bend and into the sewers. So I suppose it really isn't surprising that they are launching a dedicated gaming channel, ITV Play. Yes, yet another bloody gaming channel.

I bet some of you are thinking that this will mean the gaming cons will be moved off the existing ITV channels and replaced with actual content. No such luck. They will remain and also rebranded to ITV Play.

i dont see what the problem is. surely this will make them a lot of money, which is the true goal of a commercial broadcaster. from what i have seen, on ITV1 Quizmania and Sudoku are on when most people sleep anyway so whats the problem

I'm not talking about it getting in the way so much as talking about how ITVs remaining reputation hitting rock bottom if the best they can do after axing a news channel is to create another one of these quiz channels. Yes, I know these channels make money. I heard that Quizmania showings on the existing ITV channels made them £2 million in January. But, to me at least, ITV is sinking below being one of the main channels (the traditional terrestrial channels) and getting into the territory of high-numbered Sky channels full of rubbish. Just another step in the slow decline of ITV over the years.

I know the channel can be easily ignored, but it's not the point I'm making.

The point is ITV are crap! That said, I would'nt put anything past them so its when I hear of BBC Poker that I'll kill myself. Or sell the telly.
